Vicks V4500 FilterFree Humidifier Reviews

STOP. DON’T BUY THIS. – Ezinwanyi – Dallas, TX USA
On sale at walmart for , so I bought it thinking it was quality. BIG MISTAKE. It’s a piece of crap! As a mother of a 3yr & 1yr, Pediatrician recommended a cool mist humidifier due to their reactive airpath disease. They are both on nebulizers (advair and proventil). So I went straight to Walmart and make this awful purchase.
I wish I had read the reviews first. I have followed the instructions to the letter, but there is pink mold in the humidifier in areas I can’t reach.
Why don’t they tell you that there are impossible areas to reach and clean? I have tried using long Q-tips, and I have cut my finger numerous times trying to get into the motor area. I spend hours trying to get rid of pink mildew even though it is faint, it is still there. I hate this thing.
1) My kids can deal with the noise, but yes, it is noisy. I am okay with that though.
2) I dump the water out every morning and leave it the tub to drain properly
3)I deep clean with White vinegar and Clorox as instructed EVERY week due to children’s breathing issues. I have spent no less than 2 hrs every weekend cleaning this product and still can’t get inside where some of the pink mildew has formed.
4) Kaz company is not helpful, so I will return both humidifiers to Walmart on Friday, but I am disappointed with the company’s lack of concern.
5) It does live a white film on furniture, but I don’t mind cleaning it as long as my kids can breath better.
6)Not sure it is working well because baby has had a couple of nose bleeds so even though it is on the highest setting, I am not sure that it is moisturizing all that well.
This product is just not worth it. A working mom & Dad with 2 small children, we are willing to make the time to clean this thing daily, but it take entirely too much of our time. This humidifier is not worth a dime to me. That pink mold has to be hazardous to your children. Please read all these reviews, this many people cannot be lying.
Whatever you decide, keep your receipt. You will definitely need it after 2-3 wks.
